Katsina State Governor, Dikko Radda, has urged foreign investors and development finance institutions to fund key projects in agriculture, energy, and technology to drive economic growth in the state.

Radda made the call following his participation at the ongoing 2025 Oxford Africa Business Forum, held at the Saïd Business School, University of Oxford, United Kingdom.

A statement by the governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Ibrahim Mohammed, on Sunday, said Radda, who was a guest speaker at the event, spoke on the theme ‘Africa’s Growth Trajectory: Globalisation vs. Domestic Collaboration’.

“In his address, Governor Radda highlighted the strategic advantages of investing in Katsina State.

“We have implemented significant policy reviews to ensure our state has the required frameworks, regulations, and institutions to fast-track development and ease of doing business.

“Our Climate Smart Agriculture Policy and pilot programme are designed to mitigate the effects of climate change and climate-induced conflicts on agriculture and food security,” the statement quoted Radda as saying.

During a panel discussion on ‘Strength in Unity: The Power of African Domestic Collaboration’, Radda shared insights on the African Continental Free Trade Area, regional security, cross-border trade, and sustainable development.

“Leveraging the continent’s youthful population and technology is key to unlocking Africa’s true potential in the 21st century,” he noted.

The governor also stressed the importance of collaboration among African nations in tackling common challenges.

“Partnerships and cooperation among nations are critical to solving most of the problems affecting our continent,” he added.

According to the statement, discussions at the forum paved the way for talks with investors and development finance institutions on funding Katsina State’s agricultural, energy, and technology initiatives.

Radda also explored potential collaborations with Saïd Business School for executive training programmes and the Blavatnik School of Government for public and civil service training to enhance governance and service delivery in Katsina.

The Katsina delegation at the forum included the Chief of Staff to the Governor, Alhaji Abdulkadir Mamman Nasir; Economic Adviser to the Governor, Khalil Nur Khalil; Executive Secretary of the Katsina State Development Management Board, Mustapha Shehu; and Special Assistant on Power and Energy, Dr. Hafiz Ibrahim Ahmed.
