Katy Perry is getting her real-life “E.T.” moment.
After dropping her hit song about falling in love with an extraterrestrial in 2011, the singer is now set to travel to space with an all-women Blue Origin crew.
Other celebrities joining her are “CBS Mornings” co-host Gayle King and philanthropist Lauren Sánchez.
According to CBS News, the stars will commute along with former NASA rocket scientist Aisha Bowe, civil rights activist Amanda Nguyen and film producer Kerianne Flynn.

“I don’t know how to explain being terrified and excited at the same time. It’s like how I felt about to deliver a baby,” King, 70, said during the announcement on “CBS Mornings” Thursday.
The famed journalist said she consulted with her kids, Kirby, 38, and William, 37, and her best friend, Oprah Winfrey, before committing to the mission.
“Once Kirby and Will and Oprah were fine with it, I was fine,” she said.
The stars will commute along with former NASA rocket scientist Aisha Bowe, civil rights activist Amanda Nguyen and film producer Kerianne Flynn. Blue Origin King said she consulted with her kids and her best friend, Oprah Winfrey, before committing to the mission. CBS“I thought Oprah would say, ’No, no.’ She said, ‘I think if you don’t do it, when they all come back and you had the opportunity to do it, you will be kicking yourself.’ She’s right.”
Sánchez, 55, also shared her elation over the news on Instagram.
“I am beyond excited to share the news of my @BlueOrigin space flight this spring and the fearless explorers who are coming with me!” she captioned the post.

Sánchez, who is engaged to Blue Origin founder Jeff Bezos, “brought the mission together” and said she’s “honored to lead a team of explorers on a mission that will challenge their perspectives of Earth, empower them to share their own stories, and create lasting impact that will inspire generations to come.”
The mission will mark the 11th human flight for Blue Origin’s New Shepard program.
