Kazuchika Okada‘s time with New Japan Pro-Wrestling has come to an end, as he competed in his last match with the company at NJPW New Beginning in Sapporo.
At the February 24 event, Okada joined forces with Tomohiro Ishii, Hirooki Goto, YOSHI-HASHI, and Toru Yano. They defeated Matt Riddle, Jeff Cobb, Great-O-Khan, Francesco Akira, and Callum Newman, with Okada clinching the win with the Rainmaker.
In a post-match promo, Okada thanked the fans and said he would see them again.
Okada had been with NJPW since 2007, and he was the face of the company for several years. He is a seven-time world champion and a four-time G1 Climax winner. In January, NJPW announced that he would be leaving the company following the end of his contract.
