Seventy senior police officers serving in the Kebbi State Command have been decorated with their new ranks following their recent promotion by the Police Service Commission, based on the recommendation of the Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun.

The decoration ceremony, which took place on Tuesday at the State Headquarters, Gwadangaji, Birnin Kebbi, was presided over by the Commissioner of Police, Kebbi State Command, Bello Sani, alongside his management team.

Family members and friends of the promotees were also in attendance to witness the occasion.

In his remarks, CP Sani described the promotion as a significant milestone in the careers of the officers and a moment of pride for the entire command.

He emphasised that the new ranks come with increased responsibilities and urged the officers to demonstrate a higher level of discipline and commitment in the discharge of their duties.

“This promotion is not just a recognition of your efforts but also a call for greater dedication and responsibility. I encourage you to familiarise yourselves with the laws of the land and the Police Act and Regulations as you continue to serve the nation,” the CP said.

Speaking on behalf of the newly promoted officers, one of the beneficiaries expressed gratitude to the PSC and the Inspector-General of Police for considering them worthy of the promotion.

The officer also thanked the CP for his mentorship and fatherly guidance, pledging to uphold the trust reposed in them by excelling in their duties.

“We are deeply grateful for this recognition and the opportunity to serve at a higher level. We assure you of our renewed commitment to raising the bar in discharging our responsibilities,” the officer said.
