Kebbi State Governor, Nasir Idris
Alhaji Ahmed Idris, the Chief Press Secretary to the Kebbi State Governor, Nasir Idris, has declared that Kebbi is the most peaceful state in the entire Northwest part of the country.”
Idris gave this verdict as he underscored the state government’s efforts at riding the state of bandits and other forms of terrorism.
According to him, the state government has been doing a lot in the fight against banditry.
He insisted that the state government, under the leadership of the present administration, has been doing a lot in supporting security agents to help them in the discharge of their duties.
“Our governor is doing a lot in that aspect and has been encouraging residents of the state to continue to cooperate with security agents in the provision of timely information for them,” Idris stated.
He continued, “I am sure if you go round the state, you will realise that a lot of improvement has taken place. I was in Shanga of recent, some of the people of the community were telling me that they have returned to farm after almost 10 years of absence due to security issues.
“If you go to Zuru now, people can travel from here in Kebbi to Zuru without any issue, so we are working to improve on the security issue.
“I can boldly say it anywhere that Kebbi is the most peaceful state in the entire Northwest part of the country,” the CPS declared.
Similarly, Col. Ahmed Usman (rtd) who is the Special Adviser on Security Matters to the Sokoto State Governor, Ahmed Aliyu Sokoto has equalled disclosed that the state will continue to work in synergy with conventional security agents in curbing foreign incursions into the state.
While speaking with Arewa PUNCH, the retired Colonel said the state government has not received any report relating to foreign incursions.
“I must tell you, the report of any foreign incursions has not been reported to us either by the security agents or anyone whatsoever.
“I will assure you that with this information from Borno, we will extend our findings and ensure that necessary steps are taken to avoid such issues
“We are improving on the synergy between all the security agents and our local security outfits, the Sokoto Community Guard Corps, and it has already been yielding the desired results.
“The available report at our disposal is that the bandits are in pieces now. Our security agents are dealing with them massively, and it will continue like that until we get rid of them as usual.”
