Keep Going? Update On Nigel McGuinness’ Wrestling Future

He’s not done. Retirement is a tricky subject in wrestling as you never know when you are going to see someone wrestle their last match. Someone could be out of action for a very long time but then come back and wrestle again down the line. Occasionally it might be a very long way down the line and that appears to be the case again with quite the talented wrestler.

Earlier this year, Nigel McGuinness returned to the ring after a fourteen year absence, wrestling in the Casino Gauntlet match. McGuinness went on to wrestle a few more matches, including earlier this month at Ring Of Honor Final Battle. According to Fightful Select, while the Final Battle match is not expected to be his final match, there are currently no creative plans for McGuinness. Instead, he is expected to remain on commentary for AEW.

Opinion: This isn’t the biggest surprise, as McGuinness has done well in his limited appearances this year. He has been out there working hard and looks like someone who could still be used well in the right spots. While I don’t need to see him in the ring every week, I could go for seeing him pop up in some occasional appearances against the right opponents.
