Keira Knightley is showing off her action star skills in the trailer for her new series Black Doves. While the 39-year-old Oscar nominee is no stranger to action-packed roles, she’s better known to some for her dramas. However, she brings an edge to her new Netflix show, which finds her playing a spy with a secret double life. We got a first look at the project on Wednesday (October 30) with the release of the trailer! Head inside to see the trailer… Here’s a synopsis: “Set against the backdrop of London at Christmas, BLACK DOVES is a sharp, action-filled, and heartfelt story of friendship and sacrifice. It follows Helen Webb (Keira Knightley), a quick-witted, down-to-earth, dedicated wife and mother — and professional spy. For 10 years, she’s been passing on her politician husband’s secrets to the shadowy organisation she works for: the Black Doves. When her secret lover Jason (Andrew Koji) is assassinated, her spymaster, the enigmatic Reed (Sarah Lancashire), calls in Helen’s old friend Sam (Ben Whishaw) to keep her safe. Together, Helen and Sam set off on a mission to investigate who killed Jason and why, leading them to uncover a vast, interconnected conspiracy linking the murky London underworld to a looming geopolitical crisis.” The series also stars Andre Buchan, Adeel Akhtar, Tracey Ullman, Luther Ford, Kathryn Hunter, Sam Troughton, Ella Lily Hyland, Adam Silver, Ken Nwosu, Gabrielle Creevy, Omari Douglas and Paapa Essiedu. It will be directed by Alex Gabassi. Black Doves premieres on Netflix on December 5, and it was already renewed for a second season. Press play on the trailer below!
