Keira Knightley is sharing some rare insight inside her private life with husband James Righton and their two daughters.

After being one of Hollywood’s most sought-after actresses, Knightley became more selective in her roles after tying the knot with the former Klaxons musician in 2013. She became even more distant from the spotlight after welcoming Edie and Delilah in 2015 and 2019, respectively.

“I couldn’t go job to job [abroad] now. It wouldn’t be in any way fair on them, and I wouldn’t want to,” the “Atonement” actress, 39, told The Times over the weekend.

“I’ve chosen to have children, I want to bring them up, so I’ve had to take a major step back.”

She also confessed that she would never choose to be part of a movie franchise again — like “Pirates of the Caribbean,” where she played Elizabeth Swann — because “the hours are insane.”

“It’s years of your life,” she explained. “You have no control over where you’re filming, how long you’re filming, what you’re filming.”

During the interview, Knightley also talked about how she and Righton have managed to make their marriage work, admitting that 11 years “is good for an actress and a musician.”

“We really annoy each other. But, f–k, do we laugh,” the “Pride & Prejudice” actress said before admitting that collaborating on a project would be a good idea.

“He tries to get me to clap on things occasionally and apparently I’ve got no timing, and we end up in a big row,” she revealed. “It would be awful.”

After the Klaxons broke up in 2015, Righton now scores music for movies and TV shows.

Knightley also described the two balancing each other out as she is an introvert and struggles with industry parties while Righton is an extrovert and thrives in the same scene.

“If James comes [to the parties], they’re fun. James believes it is his right to have a good time and he will create it anywhere he goes,” she told the outlet.

“Unless I’m really drunk, and you can’t be if you’re at one of those events, I find it quite intense and quite difficult. James manages to break formality with people and I can’t do that.”

This is not the first time Knightley has opened up about her struggles with Hollywood as she previously told The Hollywood Reporter that fame has always been hard on her.

“From the inside, all you’re hearing is the criticism, really,” she said in 2018.

“It was still very confusing, because you’re getting all these nominations for all of these things, but press-wise, when I’m going into interviews, people are still saying, ‘Everybody thinks you’re s–t,’ or focusing on your looks, or focusing on what’s wrong with you.”

The “Love Actually” actress then admitted, “I did have a mental breakdown at 22, so I did take a year off there and was diagnosed with post-traumatic stress disorder because of all of that stuff.”

She then revealed that she had to undergo “hypnotherapy” so she could stand on a red carpet “and not have a panic attack.”
