Kelly Clarkson is set to return as host for the second consecutive year for NBC‘s 2024 Christmas at Rockefeller Center holiday special. The Emmy and Grammy award winner announced the news Monday on her talk show The Kelly Clarkson Show.

This year’s special, which features the annual tree-lighting ceremony and musical performances, will air live on Wednesday, Dec. 4 from 8-10 p.m. ET on NBC and Peacock.

Performers and additional details will be announced at a later date.

This year’s Rockefeller Center Christmas tree comes from West Stockbridge, Massachusetts, the first tree to hail from the state since 1959.

The tradition of the Rockefeller Christmas tree dates back more than 90 years to 1931 during the Great Depression. The first official tree-lighting ceremony occurred two years later in 1933 in front of the then eight-month-old RCA Building (the current Comcast Building). NBC televised the tree lighting for the first time in 1951 on The Kate Smith Show and as part of the nationwide Howdy Doody television show from 1953-55.
