Wrestling is a professional sport. While things are primarily scripted and pre-planned, sometimes things can get a little more personal. Recently, WWE veteran Kelly Kelly shared a story of how she got ‘stiffed’ by an opponent with whom she had real-life beef.
While speaking to Bryan Scott on his Fast Break YouTube channel, Kelly Kelly shared how she had a real-life beef with a fellow WWE Superstar. She also shared how the WWE Superstar ‘stiffed’ her once during a match.
“There was one that I didn’t care… So, the big thing about wrestling is like your life is in each other’s hands. Anything could happen. So, you really kind of put whatever BS you had aside and go out there and you are a professional. But there was one time, this girl did not like me. And we never really… I didn’t care for her. We went out for a match and it was a tag match. And I was getting beat up during the match. So, she tagged in. I was on the ground. I just remember, she punched me so hard in the head, like right here, because I got this huge goose egg. And she did it on purpose. Because she looked me right in my eye and she knew it.”
Kelly Kelly did not want to wrestle her again
The former WWE Divas Champion also shared how she confronted her opponent backstage. She believes that since the incident she never wrestled her opponent.
“We get to the back. I was so pissed, I came through the curtain. I was like, ‘You did this on purpose. I know.’ And the producer standing there like, ‘Oh wow!’ And I was like, ‘She did this on purpose.’ I’m yelling. I’m screaming. I am like so mad. And she’s like, ‘No. I would never.’ And I’m like, ‘You f*cking b*tch. I am just there like, ‘I’m never wrestling you ever again.’ I don’t think I ever had to wrestle her again after that because I made a big deal out of it. This is not… This is professional… Like, ‘What are you doing?’”
The former WWE Superstar also shared that she did try to get some retribution during the match itself.
“You know what’s funny? I did try to [get back at her] during the match after she did it. I think I got in with her again at that. And I think I really laid it in. I was like, ‘Oh, we are going for it? Okay, we are going for it.’ So, I really laid it in,” she said.
