Kevin Costner Addresses Fan Outrage Over His 'Yellowstone' Character's Fate

Kevin Costner is addressing all of the backlash surrounding his Yellowstone‘s fate.

Over the summer, it was announced that the 69-year-old Oscar winner would not be returning for the final season of the hit Paramount Network and in the season 5B premiere on November 10, it was revealed that his character John Dutton had been found with a fatal gunshot wound.

While arriving at the 2024 Governors Awards on Sunday (November 17), Kevin reacted to all of the outrage over John Dutton’s fate and revealed that he pitched two different endings for his character to series creator Tyler Sheridan.

Kevin said that he pitched John Dutton’s death to Tyler “a while back,” but it was ultimately up to producers on the exact way that he would meet his maker.

“They do what they want to do. That’s fine with me,” Kevin added.

One Yellowstone star recently addressed the possibility of starring in their own spinoff series.
