When you say the name “Kevin Feige” and the phrase “Comic-Con,” one image comes to mind. It’s the one above, in fact. The president of Marvel Studios, on stage in Hall H, announcing a ton of huge movie news. You don’t expect to hear he’s going to be in a room with a capacity of about 1,000 talking about comics.

But that’s exactly what happening at San Diego Comic-Con this year. While Feige will surely be in Hall H for his usual awesomeness on Saturday, the newly released Friday schedule revealed he’ll also be doing a comics panel the day before. It’s called “Marvel Fanfare” and will see Feige take the stage in room 6DE on Friday, July 26 to discuss comics with Marvel Comics editor-in-chief C.B. Cebulski. Here’s the official description:

Marvel masters collide in an unprecedented meeting of page and screen! Marvel Comics editor-in-chief C.B. Cebulski and Marvel Studios’ president Kevin Feige discuss their mutual love for all things Marvel Comics along with some special surprise creators. With decades of creative storytelling at the House of Ideas between them, there will be no shortage of insider insights and unheard comic book anecdotes that you can’t afford to miss. And if that wasn’t enough… following the discussion, fans will receive an exclusive giveaway comic!

This is all kinda surprising because a) Feige is doing a panel that’s not the huge Marvel Studios one, b) it’s comics-focused, c) Iti’s in a room with a fraction of the capacity of Hall H, and d) that it’s both him and Cebulski. Because, let’s not forget, Cebulski is the guy who pretended to be a Japanese man in order to help himself advance at Marvel. Clearly, most people have either forgotten or forgiven about this, and Cebulski himself has apologized on more than one occasion, but it’s still worth noting.

On a more positive note though, it could be fascinating to see these two Marvel bigwigs cutting it up about the industry. Feige will save the movie news for Hall H but the pair can certainly reveal info about comics that have inspired some of the recent films—as well as details about how the two main divisions of the company work together, that kind of stuff. Plus, we always love a good giveaway.
