It has been over seven years since the Prize Fighter Kevin Owens has held a singles championship. There are multiple reasons why he hasn’t. Part of it is also because he was focussed on the tag team division. Owens had held the Undisputed WWE World Tag Team Championships along with Sami Zayn. They won the belts in the main event of Night One of WrestleMania 39. This past Saturday, Owens had the opportunity to capture a singles championship once again.

While speaking to DailyMail.co.uk ahead of his title match at Bash in Berlin, the former WWE Universal Champion Kevin Owens mentioned that he would love to become a champion again. At the same time, every professional wrestler aspires to become a top champion in a wrestling promotion themselves.

“I do what’s needed of me,’ Owens says. Everybody’s got an opinion, and everybody wants more, and I’d love to be champion again. I’d love the chance to show that I should be champion again. But everybody does.”

Owens also mentioned that when WWE was under a different management only a select few guys would get the opportunities frequently. Now, with Triple H running the show, that is not the case anymore.

“I think the last few years, things have got better in terms of who gets the opportunities. Because I think for a long time, there was maybe three guys that would get opportunities at the top. “It worked that way for a bunch of reasons, I guess. But that’s not the case anymore, which I think is definitely positive,” Kevin Owens said.

Unfortunately, Kevin Owens could not capture the Undisputed WWE Championship at Bash in Berlin.
