Two suspected kidnappers were shot dead on Monday while attempting to abduct some individuals.
The incident took place in the Fangha community of the Daffo district, Bokkos local government area, Plateau State.
The State Police Command confirmed the incident. Police Public Relations Officer DSP Alfred Alabo stated, “On 03/06/2024 at about 5:30 am, we received a distress call from a patriotic citizen who reported that some hoodlums, suspected to be kidnappers, were operating in the Fangha area of Daffo District, Bokkos LGA.”
He continued, “A team of Policemen and other security help groups went to the scene of the incident where they engaged the hoodlums in a gun duel. Two of the hoodlums were neutralized in the process, while others escaped with gunshot wounds.”
Alabo added, “Exhibits recovered from the hoodlums include one locally fabricated revolver gun loaded with four 7.62MM ammunition, two phones, one dagger, and one knife. Efforts are intensified to arrest the fleeing suspects.”
