Kieran Culkin still hasn’t watch the last episode of Succession!

The series finale of the award-winning series aired back on May 28, 2023 on HBO and now a year and a half later, the 42-year-old actor still hasn’t seen it, despite winning an Emmy for his performance in the last season.

While appearing on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert earlier this week, Kieran explained why he still hasn’t watched the episode.

“I’ve heard! I mean, I was there. I read it, I was there for it, I know what happens — at least I think,” Kieran responded. That wasn’t really on purpose — at least, not at first. I guess it sort of is now.”

Kieran went on to say he wasn’t about to watch the finale, and it’s partially because he was in Poland filming his new movie A Real Pain.

“I was in Poland shooting this movie when the last three episodes were airing, and I couldn’t log into my Max account,” Kieran explained. “So my wife actually went on Instagram and said hey, if there’s anyone who can give your sign-in so Kieran can watch the last couple episodes? And people did! Everyone just gave over their email and password and stuff.”

“I was able to watch the eighth and ninth episode, but then before the last one I moved to a different hotel that didn’t have a smart TV, so I just couldn’t watch it then,” he continued.

“Then I went home, did a vacation, blah blah blah,” Kieran went on. “You know when it’s like a couple months old? I kinda missed the moment. Does that not make sense? Maybe it doesn’t make sense.”

Since it’s been so long since the episode aired, Kieran‘s wife Jazz Charton suggested they do a full re-watch of Succession.

“That’s the plan, and has been, for however long it’s been,” Kieran said. “A year and a half?”

“Well spoiler, but things work out great for you,” Stephen sarcastically replied.

Kieran‘s co-star Jeremy Strong recently addressed the possibility of making more Succession in the future.
