Kimberly Page has denied any rumors that she got Sunny fired from WCW.
Sunny was fired from WCW in 2000. There had long been rumors of drug use in the WCW locker room, with the former WWE star the usual suspect.
The former WCW Nitro Girl was said to have told management that Sunny had used syringes in the locker room, which led to her being fired from the company. However, Kimberly Page has said that she bares no blame for Sunny’s departure.
Kimberly Page spoke with The Hannibal TV in a recent interview. In one highlight, she discussed the incident with Sunny and claimed it was a “wildly inaccurate” story. Page went on to explain how she was reading a book in the arena when a syringe was found in the bathroom.
“Yeah, that’s really hilarious because I hear all the time these wildly inaccurate stories of the day that that happened and, um, yeah, really stupid suppositions and really like untrue things. And, uh, I can tell you right now that I was not even there.”
“I was working that day; I was out in the arena, as I was very, very well known to do. We would have Nitro Girls rehearsal, and then we’d finish up. We’d have a couple of hours of dead time, and I’d sit out in the arena and read a book.”
“And that is what I was doing. I came back into the locker room and, uh, a syringe had already been discovered in the bathroom. I wasn’t even there for it, and Jeanie had already been notified. So I was just there and saw it. I don’t know how it got turned into ‘I ratted her out, I was the one who found it’. Because none of that is true.”
