Presnel Kimpembe has just reached an important milestone in his rehabilitation process.

Presnel Kimpembe is back on his feet. This Thursday, the 28-year-old French defender announced via a video published in his Instagram story that he had abandoned the boot that was immobilizing his foot. The Parisian can thus walk normally again. A big milestone for someone who hasn’t been on the pitch for over a year.

Indeed, the 2018 world champion has not worn the PSG tunic since February 26, 2023, during a victory against OM (0-3). Victim of a ruptured Achilles tendon, Kimpembe was forced to undergo re-operation at the start of the year. Therefore, his return to the field is not planned until next season.

“The most important thing is to come back well, 100%”

A return to the field this season? Complicated, because it’s an injury that is quite rare in football. Complicated because it’s several months of abstinence, of resilience”, he recently explained during a podcast on Café Filter.

And the native of Val d’Oise added: This is shadow work. Not everyone sees this and can understand it. But I remain focused on my goals. The most important thing is to come back well, 100%. » As a reminder, despite his serious injury, Kimpembe was extended by PSG, who obviously still believe in a return to the forefront of their defender, until June 2026.
