Kind Words: AEW’s Will Ospreay Praises WWE Star, Criticizes Company’s Booking Of Him

He isn’t happy. While there are two major wrestling promotions in the United States, their wrestlers are certainly not strangers to each other. Wrestlers who work for WWE or AEW know their counterparts from the other company and have often worked together in the past. That can lead to some interesting opinions and a top AEW star has something to say about how WWE is using a current Superstar.

During a recent interview with Comic Book, AEW’s Will Ospreay praised Ricochet, calling him “the greatest high-flyer ever” and said Ricochet is on the same level as Rey Mysterio. Ospreay also voiced displeasure of WWE using Ricochet in under five minutes matches, referring to his appearances on Speed. In addition, spoke about Ricochet’s time in Dragon Gate and mentioned that high fliers today took inspiration from Ricochet and Pac. Ospreay is scheduled to challenge Roderick Srong for the International Title at AEW Double Or Nothing on Sunday.

Opinion: That is some very impressive praise for Ricochet and comes from one of the biggest stars in AEW today. Ospreay and Ricochet have quite the history and it is great to see Ospreay offering this sort of kind words. I can see why he might not think much of Ricochet being the star of a short form series, but if Ricochet is happy with how he is currently being used, good for him.
