Kofi Kingston has addressed how he felt about Odyssey Jones being removed from WWE TV.
The former NXT star was embroiled in a storyline with The New Day earlier this year. He made his debut on Raw in August and was joined by the New Day for the match. He was also booked to team with Kingston and Xavier Woods until he was quickly removed from the program.
WWE removed Odyssey Jones from their roster page in September and made no more mention of him on television. The storyline was cancelled amid domestic violence allegations which Kofi Kingston recently spoke with the NY Post about.
He told the publication that WWE taught him to expect the unexpected and be ready for things to change at a moment’s notice. He said he and Woods had to figure out what to do because “the show must go on”.
Kofi Kingston on Odyssey Jones
“One of the main lessons that I’ve learned is that you never know what tomorrow is going to bring with WWE.” Kofi Kingston said. “You always have to be ready to adjust at the drop of a hat. There have been times where we have known what’s going to happen at a “Monday Night Raw” for weeks and we work towards that, and then we get into the building, and then all of a sudden, we’re doing the exact opposite. And it’s your ability to adjust and roll with the punches that pulls you up. Nothing ever goes as planned.”
“So all that to say, you know, once Odyssey was out of the mix, we just had to figure out a way to pivot and keep the story going and keep on moving forward, because, as they say, the show must go on. You figure out the best ways to adjust.” Kofi Kingston said.
