Confluence University of Science and Technology, Osara, has received approval from the National Universities Commission to commence six new courses.

The approved courses include Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery (MBBS), Doctor of Physiotherapy (DPT), B.Rad. Radiography, B. Agric. Agriculture, B. Eng. Agricultural Engineering and LL.B. Law respectively.

This is a significant development for CUSTCH, as the approval paves the way for the university to offer these programs starting from the 2024/2025 academic session.

The approval was granted following a thorough resource verification visit by panels of experts to assess the university’s readiness in terms of human and material resources for the establishment of the proposed academic programs.

In a letter addressed to the management of CUSTECH on Friday, the Acting Director of Academic Planning for NUC, Mr Abubakar Girei, conveyed the commission’s decision and emphasized that the approval only pertains to full-term programs.

“In order to offer part-time courses, CUSTECH must submit a separate request to the commission for further processing”. He noted.

He said that Governor Usman Ododo has played a key role in advancing the education sector in the region.

“Under his leadership, CUSTECH has seen tremendous growth and expansion, becoming a leading institution in science and technology education.

The approval of these new courses demonstrates the commitment of Governor Ododo and the university management to provide students with a diverse and high-quality education that meets the needs of the modern world”. He said

According to him, “The introduction of programs such as MBBS, DPT, B.Rad. Radiography, B.Agric. Agriculture, B. Eng. Agricultural Engineering, and LL.B. Law will not only attract more students to CUSTECH but also contribute to the development of the medical and agricultural sectors in the country.

These courses are in high demand and will provide students with valuable knowledge and skills, preparing them for successful careers in their respective fields.

The full commencement of these new courses will further herald significant milestones for the university and underscore its commitment to excellence in education.

With the support of Governor Ododo and the dedication of the university’s management and staff, CUSTECH is well-positioned to continue making positive contributions to the advancement of science and technology education in Nigeria” he said.
