Kolo Muani’s little provocation on its price

Randal Kolo Muani wants to prove his critics wrong, after struggling to justify his huge move since joining Paris Saint-Germain.

In an interview with the French magazine Onze Mondial, Kolo Muani said he is convinced that those who doubted him because of his €90 million price tag when he moved from Eintracht Frankfurt last summer will eventually change their minds.

“I have seen the criticism since I arrived at PSG. And criticism makes us evolve, that’s good to hear. It’s like advice. You have to take criticism into account and improve so that these same criticisms disappear. It’s logic. Concerning the transfer price, it is important. Personally, it’s difficult to digest. It’s an extra pressure for me. I am digesting little by little. But I’ll tell you a secret: over time, people will say it was a good price for Randal Kolo Muani. I know at the moment people are saying: “90 million euros for Kolo Muani, what is that? I simply say: ‘We’ll see’.

Kolo Muani revenge

Kolo Muani earned a place in France’s World Cup squad during a breakout season with Eintracht Frankfurt in 2022-23. He signed a long-term contract with PSG until 2028, but just six Ligue 1 starts and five goals, plus a mediocre performance in the Champions League, is not the record for a player who has cost almost nine figures to purchase. Kylian Mbappé has scored four times as many goals in the league and already 30 in all competitions, even if Kolo Muani remains the club’s second top scorer with eight goals in total.

Kolo Muani must simply establish himself as an indisputable starter if he wants to prove his value in the PSG jersey. He has started three of the club’s last four league matches, but as a winger rather than a central striker, where Mbappé occupies that role. Ultimately, there is a real chance that Mbappé will no longer be at PSG next season and Kolo Muani will want to position himself to fill the void, rather than being overlooked in favor of a new signing, if that happens .
