Kota Ibushi provides an update on his recovery.
Kota Ibushi previously went to the hospital after his match at NOAH The New Year. There, he worked through an ankle injury, and he could not stand after the bout. Pro Wrestling NOAH announced that Ibushi had been diagnosed with “a right tibiofibular ligament tear and a right ankle lateral ligament complex injury as a result of a more thorough examination than his initial diagnosis.” He subsequently had surgery on January 17.
In a tweet, Kota Ibushi posted an update. Ibushi wrote that he has had his cast removed, and he is now in a simple cast for the next two weeks. The former champion wrote that he would heal as soon as possible. However, he stated that there is a small broken bone that seems to be filled with water, and it sometimes causes severe pain. Ibushi wrote that he would need to get this treated in both feet. He wrote that having work done on his shoulder would be the next step.
It is not known when Kota Ibushi will return to the ring.
WrestleZone wishes Ibushi well in his recovery. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
