2024 turned out to be a mixed bag for Kris Statlander.

While Kris Statlander delivered a number of critically acclaimed performances in the year that was, she also strained some personal relationships along the way. As such, the former TBS Champion is starting off 2025 on a solo route.

“Perception is reality and whatnot, where a lot of people would probably say I had a great year because I had incredible milestones,” Statlander told Close Up with Renee Paquette, while reflecting on her 2024. “I got to go to London for the first time, wrestle at Wembley. It was my first time ever leaving North America, actually. That was my first overseas trip.

“I had one of the most talked about matches with Willow [Nightingale] in the street fight on a night that was so insanely crazy. Even being something that stood out on insane night is something to take note of. Then having these matches with Mercedes [Mone], again I so grateful to be put in that position and then to be the one to pull through and deliver and do all that.”

Statlander Heads Into 2025 Alone

“I’ve had such incredible moments, but I had a lot of very low times personally and also in wrestling where I’ve hurt a lot of my friends,” Statlander added.

One of the friends she referenced is Willow Nightingale, who often served as a tag partner for Statlander. At AEW Double or Nothing, however, Statlander betrayed Nightingale, sparking a months-long feud that culminated, in-ring wise, in a Street Fight at AEW All Out. In recent weeks, Statlander has attempted to make amends with Nightingale, such as saving her from a post-match attack from Penelope Ford and Harley Cameron.

“The ending of 2024 kind of ended with me realizing what I’ve done,” Statlander said. “Now I’m starting this year very alone and dealing with the consequences and trying to figure out whether I deserve the forgiveness or not. That’s how I feel in wrestling, that’s what I feel in life a lot also. I had to kind of understand who I am alone, and now this year, 2025, I’m going to try and just be very comfortable with it.”
