Kristin Chenoweth Reveals She Was 'Severely Abused' After Weighing in on Diddy Assault Video

Kristin Chenoweth opened up about her own experience with abuse after seeing the video of Sean “Diddy” Combs seemingly assaulting ex-girlfriend Cassie.

On Friday (May 17), a security video from 2016 showed the rapper seemingly chasing after his musician girlfriend before throwing her to the ground and kicking her. The footage appears to corroborate an incident that Cassie described in a lawsuit she filed against Diddy last year.

After seeing the video, Kristin took to social media to respond. Her point of view sparked debate, prompting her to explain her own personal experiences with abuse.

“There is no excuse no matter what his defense is,” Kristin wrote in one post on X (formerly Twitter). “Heartbreaking i used to love him.”

She continued in additional posts. In one she wrote, “Honestly i have my reasons for the Sean Combs video bothering me so much. The main thing i need to do is pray for him.”

“Believe me i was sick when i saw it and so thankful she was ok. He is NOT. He is ill. Sick. Only God can forgive him. So forgive me but that’s how i think. And pray,” Kristin told another social media user, who seemingly urged her to take the post down.

The Wicked actress said that she understood why she was “taking heat.”

On Saturday (May 18), she returned to X to provide additional insight about why she felt Diddy needed prayer.

“Never wanted to come out with it, but here we go. Several years ago i was severely abused. It took me therapy and prayer to understand i deserved better. I was deeply injured physically and spiritually. The only thing i knew to do when i got out was pray. Pray for myself. Pray for him as he grew up abused. So. There yall go,” she wrote.

In another post Kristin added, “It was the lowest I’ve ever been in my life”

“I must admit i haven’t forgiven yet. It’s beyond me. God is helping me through that part,” she added. “A victim has to handle it however she-he- they needs to and is best for them.”

Authorities explained why Diddy will not face charges over the video. Cassie also alleged that the video was covered up because Diddy paid $50,000 to obtain it.
