Ghana Black Stars forward, Mohammed Kudus, has named Super Eagles legend Austin Okocha as his greatest African footballer of all time.
Speaking to Sky Sports, as reported by GhanaWeb, Kudus expressed his admiration for Okocha, emphasising the lasting impact of his creative flair and ability to entertain fans.
The West Ham star highlighted Okocha’s unique style of play as a source of inspiration for him as a young footballer.
“I will say Jay Jay Okocha. I will say explaining from my lens how I see creative players and entertain.
“That can never be washed away and the fans can never forget that.”
Okocha also plied his trade in the Premier League when he featured for now relegated Bolton Wanderers.
He led the side to the final of the League Cup in 2004 where they lost 2-1 to Middlesbrough.

The 50-year-old also played for Eintracht Frankfurt, Fenerbahce, PSG and Hull City.
The legendary midfielder won the BBC African Player of the Year award 2004 and 2005.
He finished runner-up in the 1998 CAF Player of the Year award and placed third in the 2003 and 2004 editions of the award.
At the international level, Okocha helped Nigeria win the 1994 AFCON in Tunisia.
In 1996, he was part of the U-23 Eagles that won gold in the football event of the Atlanta Olympics.
He represented Nigeria at three FIFA senior men’s World Cups – USA 1994, France 1998, Korea/Japan 2002.
Also, he was a member of the Flying Eagles squad that crashed out in the group stage of the 1993 U-20 AFCON in Mauritius.
Kudus is having a memorable debut season in the Premier League for West Ham.
The former Ajax star has scored seven goals, provided four assists in 27 league appearances.
In the Europa League, he has scored five goals in eight games while he netted one goals in three games in the Carabao Cup.
