Paris Saint-Germain continues to look for the perfect replacement for Kylian Mbappé, who left last summer for Real Madrid. Among the capital club’s priority targets, the Georgian Khvicha Kvaratskhelia seemed ideal. But Naples would have taken the initiative to secure the future of its star.

Naples close to extending Kvaratskhelia

According to the Corriere dello Sportthe Neapolitan club is on the verge of completing an extension with Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, whose current contract runs until 2027. The new lease would include a salary of 6 million euros per year, accompanied by bonuses, and a variable release clause . Naples could formalize this extension in the coming days, thus putting an end to the hopes of PSG, who tried to recruit the Georgian winger last summer.

A hard blow for PSG?

Despite this apparent failure, PSG remains determined to strengthen its offensive left flank. In addition to Kvaratskhelia, the Parisian club would also have ticked off other names, such as Nico Williams from Athletic Bilbao, a track which could gain momentum in the coming months. However, Kvaratskhelia’s imminent extension shows that PSG will have to fight to attract talent of this caliber against clubs firmly attached to their players.
