Kyle Walker hailed both Pep Guardiola and Gareth Southgate for the support they've showed him amid stories about his private life.

In a bombshell interview, the Manchester City and England defender confessed to being unfaithful to his wife, Annie Kilner, and had fathered a second child with another woman.

Walker holds leadership roles for both club and country having been made City vice-captain by manager Guardiola last summer. Meanwhile, he captained England during their Euro 2024 qualifier against North Macedonia in November.

The 33-year-old admitted he initially didn't tell Guardiola about model Lauryn Goodman's pregnancy but hailed the ex-Barcelona and Bayern Munich manager's response.

“He didn’t know what was happening," Walker told The Sun.

“I didn’t want to tell him because I didn’t want him to think I wasn’t mentally there.

“I can’t thank him enough for the understanding and belief he’s shown in me through four years.”

Walker also revealed that Southgate sent a supportive text message after the scandal.

He declined to reveal details but said: “For your national team manager to reach out in a time of need goes beyond football.”

Walker joined City from Tottenham in the summer of 2017 for a fee of £45million.
