After a bad series and being left out of the France team, Mbappé would have preferred a quiet international break to refocus and return to his best level. However, he is already caught up in controversy after fans noticed a shisha pipe in the background of an image the 25-year-old posted on social media.

Mbappé shared some photos from a recent reunion with his former Paris Saint-Germain teammates Achraf Hakimi and Arnau Tenas. The two played padel and video games, with Mbappé captioning the message: “Padel & Friends….The perfect Mix”.

However, one of the photos caught the attention of eagle-eyed fans as a shisha pipe was spotted in the background. One angry supporter wrote on X: “ The fact that Mbappé spends his days off smoking is what I missed. This guy is still making fun of all of Madrid.”

Although there is no evidence to suggest that Mbappé owns or uses the tube, the striker still risks incurring the wrath of Real Madrid, especially after extending his goal drought to four games in the 4-0 victory against Osasuna.

Mbappé has been the subject of a lot of criticism in recent weeks, and the photo will only provide his detractors with more ammunition. It might be wise for him to avoid social media ahead of his return to action with Real Madrid against Leganes on November 24.
