LA Knight still thinks he’ll be WWE Champion one day.

Knight challenged “The Tribal Chief” for his Undisputed WWE Universal Championship at Crown Jewel 2023. The match was arguably his peak of popularity, but LA Knight failed to win the gold.

He came close to walking out of Saudi Arabia as champion. However, interference from Jimmy Uso stopped him from beating Roman Reigns and he eventually succumbed to the might of the Bloodline. Knight also unsuccessfully challenged for the title at WWE Royal Rumble 2024.

Speaking with the Battleground Podcast, LA Knight talked about his match with Roman Reigns at Crown Jewel 2023. He mentioned that he only lost due to Jimmy Uso’s interference. Knight expressed his belief that he will be in the “right place and right time” to come out on top in a world championship match.

LA Knight On Becoming A World Champion

“The only thing I can take away from that is if you notice, I had Roman’s shoulders pinned to the mat,” LA Knight said. “He got his foot on the rope, not by his own, but by Jimmy Uso coming out there and putting it on. So in that sense, you gotta be ready for anything, you gotta have eyes in the back of your head. But at the same time, it’s just a matter of rising to the occasion, which I think I did. But still, there’s an ability to turn it up and even improve from there.”

“So for me, it’s just a matter of… look, a lot of people have seen the different matches I’ve had throughout the time that I’ve been here, and I’ve gotten a little bit more and a little bit more and a little bit more as it’s gone along to showcase my talents and what I can do out there. So with that being the case, I think there’s going to be a right place and a right time to do that again—and this time, come out on top.”
