In a recent report from SPORT, it has been revealed that Atletico Madrid forward Joao Felix has chosen to wait for Barcelona, despite significant interest from Aston Villa, as the Portuguese player is confident that patience will work in his favour.

At Barcelona, there is a belief that Felix could become a key player, and the club sees him as a valuable opportunity. However, they would only consider signing him if other transfer deals do not materialise.

In recent weeks, Barcelona’s interest in Felix has waned as the club has focused on other targets like Nico Williams and Dani Olmo.

The pursuit of Nico has proven challenging, while Dani Olmo has reportedly agreed to personal terms with Barcelona. The only remaining task is for Barcelona to negotiate with RB Leipzig to finalize the deal.

Felix knows the situation well

Despite these shifting priorities, Felix has opted to wait for Barcelona. His previous loan spell ended with a commitment from the club to do everything possible to bring him back.

While the situation has cooled off over time, communication has remained open. Both Deco and Hansi Flick believe that Felix has the potential to be a significant asset for Barcelona, and they view him as a great market opportunity.

Recently, Benfica have shown interest in Felix, but he has not been enthusiastic about returning to Portuguese football. Benfica have since closed the door on a potential deal due to financial constraints.

Meanwhile, Aston Villa are attempting to secure Felix on a paid loan with an obligation to purchase. However, Felix remains steadfast in his desire to return to Barcelona and believes that waiting is in his best interest.

Barcelona have made no move for Felix

As of now, Barcelona have not advanced in their pursuit of Felix, although they are aware of the possibility of arranging a loan deal. Atletico Madrid are open to negotiating a loan exchange, and players like Inigo Martinez, Ferran Torres, or Vitor Roque could be of interest to them.

The main obstacle is convincing these players to make the move, and Barcelona must demonstrate a strong commitment to signing Joao Felix, which they have not yet done.

Barcelona’s strategy seems to be to bide their time until the end of the transfer market before making a final decision.

They are counting on Felix as a key player in their plans, and the eventual decisions on departures and new signings will likely influence their approach.

Meanwhile, Felix finds himself in a situation where the club he is currently with does not want him, and the coach, Diego Simeone, is not keen on having him in the squad.

Despite these challenges, Felix remains hopeful and patient, waiting for Barcelona to make a move that could bring him back to the club he desires.
