Facundo Pellistri is one of the many Manchester United players who face an uncertain future at Old Trafford.
The Uruguayan is currently impressing at Copa America as Marcelo Bielsa’s side has secured its place in the semi-finals.
It is hoped at United that Pellistri’s performances for Uruguay will help spark some interest in his signature this summer because it never seemed like he was part of Erik ten Hag’s plans.
Additionally, in terms of competition, Amad Diallo is above Pellistri in the pecking order. Hence why I was happy to learn this morning that Real Valladolid are keen on a deal for the forward this summer.
Real Valladolid manager Paulo Pezzolano has gone public with his desire to sign the United winger, who spent last season on loan at La Liga outfit Granada.
Speaking to Uruguayan outlet Carve Deportiva, as cited by Estadio Deportivo (H/t Sport Witness), Pezzolano said he wants to sign Pellistri at Real Valladolid.
“He would be a very important player,” Pezzolano said.
“We talked about many names (with the sports management) and one of them, without a doubt, is him. I think it could benefit him a lot to be with us, although there are financial details that can or cannot be given.
“We know that it is not easy for us. I love him, but I have not dared to call him because I want him to give his best with the national team, although I suppose his representative will have sent it to him.
“Arriving at a team like ours in the preseason, adapting well to the group, knowing that he comes to an intense, dynamic, vertical team when he goes outside… He can show off a lot when stepping into the area.”
This all sounds very assuring as far as Pellistri is stood, but will the Spanish club put their money where their mouth is and make a reasonable offer for the winger?
