Last weekend, FC Barcelona carried out a great operation by coming back to eight points behind Real Madrid, leader of the championship, thanks to their deserved victory on the lawn of Deportivo Alavés (3-1). A meeting during which Vitor Roque went through all the states. Scorer shortly after the hour mark, the Brazilian striker was subsequently sent off for a second caution. A decision by the refereeing body considered severe and which caused a lot of ink to flow in the Catalan ranks.

In the process, the reigning Spanish champion appealed this decision to La Liga. An appeal which was rejected by the Appeal Commission of the Spanish governing body this Friday finding that the documentation presented by Barca does not “did not demonstrate the existence of a manifest clerical error by Juan Martinez Munuera” who had qualified in his report the tackle of the Brazilian “reckless”. As expected, Barça will be without El Tigrinho against Granada this Sunday.
