Last summer, Barcelona sent out multiple players on loan to help them develop or increase their market value.

Among the departees was Pablo Torre. Barcelona and Girona reached an agreement for the young midfielder to play on loan at the Montilivi outfit until the end of the 2023/24 season.

Since he did not get much playing time the previous season, Barça decided to loan Torre to a team that has a reputation for treating young players well.

However, game time has been sparse for Torre at Girona as well, which has cast doubts over his future as his loan spell nears an end

Now, as per Mundo Deportivo, Girona are actively working to extend Pablo Torre’s stay for the upcoming campaign.

Even though Torre has not made a remarkable impact, the club is eager to retain his services, and coach Michel believes he can extract his full potential.

In a similar vein, Torre himself is eager to stay at Girona because he sees it as the perfect setting to advance his career.

If he does decide to part ways with Barcelona, Girona stands as the 21-year-old’s preferred destination.

After all, he has already adapted well to the club, and the prospect of Champions League football next season makes Girona an even more attractive option.

With Barcelona ruling out the return of Torre this summer, they could strike a deal with Girona.

Two Spanish teams also interested

Reports have mentioned that Torre has entered the crosshairs of Real Zaragoza, with the team’s manager Victor Fernandez particularly liking him.

Furthermore, the youngster’s former team, Racing de Santander, are also keen on reuniting with the player, especially if they secure promotion to La Liga.
