The La Dade-Kotopon Municipal Assembly (LaDMA) has presented a cheque for GH¢24, 000 to 12 students in the municipality for their excellent performances in the 2021 and 2022 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) and West African Senior School Examination (WASSE).
Furthermore, the assembly presented four students who emerged overall best in the 2021 BECE and WASSE with G¢3, 000 each.
Each of the four students who had the second-best results received Gh¢2000 and G¢1,000 for each of the remaining four students for securing the third best score during the same examination periods.
At a short ceremony to honour the assembly’s pledged made to the students and their parents, Solomon Kotey Nikoi, the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for LaDMA, said the aim was to appreciate the students for their remarkable performances and also to encourage other students to give off their best.
Mr Nikoi reiterated the assembly’s commitment in promoting and raising the educational standards in the area by proving infrastructure and other amenities for a conducive teaching and learning environment.
The Municipal Education Director for LaDMA, Mrs Habiba Kotomah, was grateful to the assembly for accepting to institute such an award scheme that recognise efforts made by students in their studies.
Mrs Kotomah stated that such recognition would go a long way in boost the morale of leaners to put in their best in their studies to be able to come out with flying colours at the end of their exams.
The Education Director urged parents and guardians to take advantage of the awards scheme and give their children and wards the necessary support in their studies so they can benefit from it.
Master Zephanah Winsakiya Ayuah and Master Sampana Nam-Mahime Manasseh, beneficiaries of the scheme expressed their gratitude to the assembly through the education office for initiating such a programme which seeks to challenge them during their studies and also award them to climb higher in life
