The National Board for Technical Education has approved the establishment of Nubian American Advanced College, with effect from August 1, 2024.
The college also received the NBTE’s approval for the interim accreditation of its Business Administration and Management programme.
This was revealed in a statement made available to PUNCH Online on Sunday.
In a letter addressed to the institution and signed by the Board’s Executive Secretary, Prof Idris Bugaje, the NBTE conveyed the approval by the Minister of Education, Prof Tahir Mamman, in line with the provision of ACT CAP E3 LPN 2004.
The letter also advised the college to ensure strict compliance with the approved programmes, adding that the institution’s operational licence will be communicated at a later date.
The college’s Provost, Dr Patrick Oyinkari, said the college is pioneering the offering of associate degree programmes in Nigeria, which are two-year programmes like the National Diploma programmes with professional, technical and vocational skills at very reasonable and affordable terms.
“Our products receive American education while in Nigeria and have the option to transfer credits to four-year colleges and universities in the USA and Nigeria.
“They also get the opportunities for gainful employment and entrepreneurship,” Oyinkari stated.
