The Lagos State Government has asked residents to report complaints about threats to their safety to the Command and Control Centre for urgent attention.
According to the General Manager of the centre, Femi Giwa, toll-free emergency lines have been provided to citizens to report security threats or accidents, adding that swift action would be taken after receiving the complaints.
Giwa, who addressed a press conference on Thursday at Alausa, Ikeja, reiterated the commitment of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s administration to ensuring public safety.
“During this festive period and beyond, our people are advised to make use of the toll-free emergency lines to report any security threat, accident, and other criminal activities to the Command and Control Centre.
“The Sanwo-Olu administration is resolute in its commitment to the safety and security of all residents during the festive season, as the centre will be fully operational and on red alert to respond swiftly to any distress call,” he stated.
He assured residents of the state’s commitment to his mandate to reposition the centre for enhanced public safety and improved response to distress calls.
The manager disclosed that his plan would include the management of emerging threats such as cybersecurity, climate-related disasters, and urban security issues, among others.
