Lamine Yamal received the highest compliments from Barcelona legend Rivaldo, who compared him to Mbappé.

Rivaldo, a Barcelona legend of his era, gave his thoughts on Yamal, who is only 17 years old, his current level and the potential he has to become a superstar in the long term.

Even at his young age, Yamal is arguably Barcelona’s most important player, having also played a huge role in Spain’s Euro 2024 victory over the summer. He is nominated for the Ballon d’Or, alongside Kylian Mbappé and Vinicius Junior – the latter is favorite to win it.

Yamal can overtake Mbappé

“He’s a great player. I admire him because he has a personality despite his young age. But he already has a very, very high level. I think he is already at the level of Mbappé and Vinicius. And based on his personality, I think he still has a lot to show. He’s going to go very, very far.” Rivaldo said, via Marca.“You see Yamal and he plays with joy. He likes football. If you add to that the fact that he has already won the Euro, it makes him a player who will make a difference for the future. I am convinced of it. »

With 10 goals and assists to his name in 10 appearances for Barcelona so far, Yamal is off to a good start. After that, club football will take a break for Nations League matches, with Spain facing Denmark and Serbia in back-to-back home games.
