Lamine Yamal sends heartfelt message to Xavi after Barcelona sacking

Xavi Hernandez is finally set to leave Barcelona at the end of the season. After much deliberation, the club have finally decided to let go of the Spaniard, who didn’t have the best of synergies with the top management.

Xavi’s sudden departure has come as a shock to many, including multiple Barcelona stars who were close to the 44-year-old tactician.

One of them was Lamine Yamal. After all, it was Xavi who handed the 16-year-old a chance to make an impact in professional football while playing a crucial role in his development.

Yamal’s message to Xavi

Shortly after Barcelona’s announcement of Xavi’s departure, Yamal sent a heartfelt message to the Barcelona coach, thanking him for his services.

“Thank you for having always trusted me. It has been a pleasure to learn and work with you, Mister. Forever a Cule legend. Good luck!” Yamal wrote on his social media channels.

As mentioned earlier, Xavi was crucial in unearthing Yamal, who has gone on to become one of the most talented young players in Europe right now.

At the age of just 16, Yamal has become an attacking sensation for Barcelona and is expected to play a crucial role for the team next season.

The Spanish international will have to work with Hansi Flick – Xavi’s designated replacement in Catalonia.

Not everyone in the Barcelona camp will be all too unhappy with the departure of Xavi, though. It was reported earlier that Vitor Roque is one of the players who could benefit from the arrival of Flick.

The Brazilian, among others, stands to gain from Flick’s tendency to hand everyone the opportunity to perform in the first team.
