FC Barcelona is preparing a golden contract for its young star Lamine Yamal. According to El Chiringuitothe Catalan club has already offered a six-year extension to its 17-year-old winger, which will take effect as soon as he reaches the age of majority on July 13, 2025. An astronomical release clause of 1 billion euros will be included, confirming the Barça’s desire to protect its prodigy from greed, particularly that of Paris Saint-Germain.
With impressive performances – 7 goals and 8 assists in 19 matches in all competitions this season – Lamine Yamal has become a central element of the squad led by Hansi Flick. Voted best player at the start of the season in La Liga by the show El Chiringuitohe is ahead of Vinicius Jr (and Kylian Mbappé, designated disappointment of the season for the moment).
A response to PSG and a long-term vision
Barça, which refused an offer of 200 million euros from PSG last summer, is banking on this extension to avoid any risk of departure. Enric Masip, advisor to Joan Laporta, recently confirmed that Paris had tried to recruit Lamine Yamal, but the Catalan club are determined to build around him. By strengthening his contract, Barça guarantees the future of the man who is seen as one of the most promising talents in world football.
