Maryanne, spouse of the 2019 Young Progressive Party presidential candidate Kingsley Moghalu, faced significant backlash for cautioning investors against putting their money into Lagos State. The criticism stemmed from the recent demolition of part of Landmark Beach, the Mami Chula Beach Lifestyle, to make way for the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway.
Senator Dave Umahi, Minister of Works, noted that the demolition started following his inspection of kilometers 13, 16, and 20, aiming for an economical and viable route for the coastal roads while minimizing damage. He highlighted that the demolition would impact multiple structures, but assured compensation would be provided.
That tweet did not go down well with the Senior Special Assistant to the Minister of Agriculture and Food Security, Woye, as he went on to tell Kingsley Moghalu’s wife that she would be sent back to her village as he would tell Sanwo-Olu to order an investigation into their house in Lagos and check if they violate any environmental or town planning law.
After seeing the reply from Woye, Moghalu’s wife went on to quote the reply and said, “In your dreams. My house is in Enugu. Come and investigate me there”.
