The sports journalist will take the microphone again at the age of 76 to comment, live on RMC, on the Real Sociedad-PSG Champions League match on March 5.

Since 2019 and the Coupe de France final between Paris Saint-Germain and Stade Rennais, Jean-Michel Larqué had not commented on a football match on television.

The former Saint-Etienne footballer, converted into a sports consultant, will make his comeback on the small screen during the round of 16 second leg of the Champions League. Exceptionally, the native of Bizanos will return to service on March 5. He will accompany journalist Jean Resseguié on the microphone.

A legendary duo with Thierry Roland

On July 15, 2018, Jean-Michel Larqué ended his media career following the Football World Cup in Russia. However, a little over six months later, he returned to RMC to replace Rolland Courbis, the latter being named coach of the Caen club. Since August 2019, he has been a columnist on Jérôme Rothen’s show, “Rothen s’enflamme”, every Friday from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

During his career as a journalist, Jean-Michel Larqué distinguished himself by his particular style at the microphone. In addition to his particular elocution, he owes his notoriety in the media to his partnership with Thierry Roland, his sidekick for more than fifteen years at TF1.
