LASG retains MoneyMaster as payment partner for Ounje Eko

Leading payment service bank, MoneyMasterPSB, has been reappointed by the Lagos State Government for Phase 2 of the ‘Ounje Eko’ Food Discount Market which commences across the state on September 1, 2024.

Ounje Eko is an initiative by the Lagos State Government to provide a variety of food items to residents at a discount of 25 per cent. It is meant to bring succour to residents of the state in the midst of steep food prices.

The scheme, which was successfully piloted in March this year will recommence on Sunday, September 1, across all the Local Government Areas, Local Council Development Areas and in the premises of five tertiary institutions in the state.

Based on its innovative and robust payment and collection technology infrastructure, MoneyMasterPSB has again been given the mandate to deploy its cutting-edge collection solution for seamless transactions at Ounje Eko discount markets across the state. MoneyMaster will be using its cutting-edge payment solution to facilitate seamless payment and reconciliation to ease the experience of patrons of the markets and provide real-time value to payment destinations.

“We are excited to partner with the Lagos State Government in the second phase of the Ounje Eko discount markets as this programme aligns with our corporate philosophy of adding value to people’s lives,” MoneyMaster PSB disclosed in a statement.

Obaseki to present staff to Edo monarch September 6

Edo State governor, Godwin Obaseki will on Friday, September 6, 2024, present staff of office to the Uzoyare II of Otuo Kingdom, His Royal Highness, Godfrey Aigbogun Alabi.

The National President of the Otuo Union and Chairman Coronation Planning Committee, Mr Charles Ojeabuo, stated this on Friday while briefing journalists on activities lined up for the event.

He said, “We are prepared and eagerly waiting to witness the official coronation and presentation of staff of office to His Royal Highness, Godfrey A. Alabi, the Uzoyare II of Otuo Kingdom by Governor Godwin Obaseki on September 6, 2024.

“The royal event is very unique because it is the first time a traditional ruler of the kingdom will be getting staff of office from the government in elaborate celebrations.”

He explained that the ascension of His Royal Highness, Godfrey A Alabi, the Uzoyare II of Otuo to the throne of his forefathers has been seamless and smooth with overwhelming support of all stakeholders and elders from the 12 quarters of Otuo land without contestation or crisis.

He said, “It is also important to point out the fact that the selection process of the Ovie of Otuo was done and gazetted within three months, which is another unique aspect of this historic coronation of our royal father, HRH Godfrey A. Alabi”.

The Otuo Union President described the monarch as a highly exposed, educated and accomplished civil servant, who retired as a director of finance in local government administration.
