The upcoming Lanterns TV show is in production! Cameras are up on the new DC Studios series, which is centering on two Green Lantern characters from the DC Comics. Filming is taking place at the iconic Warner Bros Studio in Burbank, and the show will be airing on HBO in the future. Check out the first photo here! According to the initial announcement by James Gunn nearly two years ago, Lanterns will be a “big premiere HBO television series” which will tell the “story of a couple of Green Lanterns, Jon Stewart and Hal Jordan, and we have a few other lanterns peppered in there, but this is really a terrestrial based TV show.” It will be “almost like True Detective, with a couple of Green Lanterns who are space cops watching over Precinct Earth. In it, they discover a terrifying mystery that ties into our largest story of the DCU.” So far, six actors have been announced to star in the series and one actor has revealed they turned it down.
