Laura Prepon and Ben Foster have called it quits!

According to TMZ on Tuesday, the longtime couple are divorcing, with Ben being the one to pull the plug on their six-year marriage. What happened? The divorce filings don’t say much. In docs obtained by the outlet, the 3:10 To Yuma actor cited typical default irreconcilable differences as the reason for the breakup. He then asked the court to enforce the terms of their prenup from 2018.

Ben listed the date of separation as September 9 — which matches what sources say about the split timeline. Insiders told the outlet he and the That ’70s Show alum broke up at some point in the past few months and have been living separately ever since.

Laura is in Tennessee, while Ben stays in Los Angeles. Sources also said she is no longer wearing her wedding ring. The Orange Is The New Black actress was notably not wearing it in a Halloween post on Instagram. See (below):

If you don’t know, Laura and Ben first met when they were teens as they shared a mutual friend for years. Unfortunately, that mutual friend was convicted rapist Danny Masterson. They eventually became romantically involved in 2016, going on pair to have daughter Ella in August 2017. The following year, Ben and Laura got married, eventually welcoming a son in February 2020. Flash forward four years later, and they are over. So what happened??

We don’t know yet. But it’s worth noting the split does seem to be in the wake of their friend’s scandal. Sure, it’s possible these things have nothing to do with one another. Couples break up for all sorts of reasons. But having the man who introduced you, the whole reason you got together, be unmasked as such a monster? That’s such a specter to hang over your relationship. Just saying… bad juju. Could this be more ripples from the fallout of Danny Masterson’s actions?
