TNT presenter Laura Woods could only laugh as Rio Ferdinand and Joleon Lescott ditched punditry duties to have a kick about.

The trio were in Denmark to present TNT's coverage of Manchester City's away trip to Copenhagen in the first round of the knockout stage.

But before kick-off, Ferdinand and Lescott had other ideas instead of standing alongside Woods.

Live on TV, they shelved their duties for a quick kickabout while Woods could only laugh.

But Woodsy managed to deal with it brilliantly, saying live on air as cameras turned to the three pitchside: "I've lost the boys, they are playing with their toys, as always."

Ferdinand could then be heard counting his keepy-ups, with maybe just a tinge of hyperbole.

"405, 407, 410," the former Manchester United defender said, as Woods chuckled.

As cameras showed shots of City fans outside the Parken stadium, Ferdinand and Lescott could be heard in fits of laughter ahead of kick-off.

But very soon after the match started, only one would have been smiling when City took an early lead through Kevin De Bruyne.

Those travelling fans, as well as Lescott who made 160 appearances for City over five years, were muted soon after, though, when Ederson's error saw Magnus Mattsson score a beauty to equalise.

However, just before half-time, Bernardo Silva jumped on a loose ball the quickest to pop up with a cute finish to put City ahead just before half-time.

City are looking to go on and defend their Champions League crown this season after winning it for the first time last year.

They are the hot favourites to go on and do so, though big hitters like Real Madrid and Bayern Munich remain in the competition.

Nevertheless, Pep Guardiola's men easily swatted aside both clubs last season en route to the final in Istanbul where they beat Inter Milan 1-0.
