Canal+ consultant Laure Boulleau did not like Cristiano Ronaldo’s controversial comments on Ligue 1.
Having left for exile in Saudi Arabia a year ago, Cristiano Ronaldo does not regret his choice. Beyond the financial aspect, the Portuguese star enjoys playing in the Saudi Pro League, a championship better than Ligue 1, according to his recent statements. “The Saudi League is not worse than Ligue 1. The Saudi Pro League is more competitive than Ligue 1, I can say that after a year there. We are already better than the French championship now. (…) They can say whatever they want, I know what I’m saying. It’s my opinion “thus released the Al-Nassr striker, in his role as ambassador, during the Globe Soccer Awards ceremony on Friday.
Statements which inevitably provoked a huge amount of reactions within France. In Canal Football Club on Canal+, Laure Boulleau did not hesitate to put the five-time Ballon d’Or in his place. “I was really surprised by his communication. Why tackle Ligue 1? Because Lionel Messi played here? I asked myself the question, why did he mention Ligue 1 and not other championships?launched the former PSG player.
“I don’t like these kinds of statements at all”
And to continue: “I already think it’s not his level to say that. I think he played in plenty of other championships, except this one, so I think it sucks. It’s not the championship he knows best. Frankly, we watch the Saudi Pro League matches and I honestly think that’s not true. I think it’s a phrase of communication, of pride. He has a lot of ego. But that doesn’t stop me from liking Cristiano Ronaldo a lot, but I don’t like these kinds of statements at all. »
