“El Pocho” is going through a relatively troubled period. The former attacking midfielder was allegedly betrayed by a close friend, who allegedly defrauded him financially.

After being hospitalized in December 2023 in Uruguay, following a domestic accident, Ezequiel Lavezzi was again admitted to a clinic on January 6 in Buenos Aires (Argentina). Initially, the rumor of an overdose arose, before being denied by the son of the former Paris Saint-Germain player.

According to Marcathe problems of the former Albiceleste international would be financial. “There was a problem that worried him a lot, that he couldn’t overcome. I am assured that this is the question that has worried him the most lately. It’s something that torments him. This is a large sum of money that he has never recovered until now. And what happens is that the scam from which Lavezzi allegedly suffered recently, he suffered from a friend. It hurt him a lot and he still can’t get over it. A friend put him in this situation and he never returned the money he was supposed to give him.”revealed Argentine journalist Juan Etchegoyen.

As a reminder, Ezequiel Lavezzi retired in 2019 after spending three seasons at Hebei FC, in the Chinese Super League. The career of the man who nicknamed himself “Pocho” was marked by his stints at Napoli (2007-2012, 48 goals) and PSG (2012-2016, 35 goals).
