Laz Alonso Joins Guy Ritchie’s ‘Fountain Of Youth’

EXCLUSIVE: Laz Alonso (The Boys) has joined the cast of Fountain of Youth, Guy Ritchie’s new film for Apple, Deadline can reveal. He’ll star opposite the previously announced John Krasinski, Natalie Portman, Eiza Gonzalez and Domhnall Gleeson.

Sources tell Deadline that IAG facilitated the casting, after just recently taking Alonso on as a new client.

Written by James Vanderbilt, the film follows two estranged siblings who partner on a global heist to find the mythological Fountain of Youth. They must use their knowledge of history to follow clues on an epic adventure that will change their lives…and possibly lead to immortality.

Produced for Apple by Skydance, Vinson Films and Project X Entertainment, the project reunites Alonso with Ritchie, following their work together on the action thriller Wrath of Man, which had Alonso starring opposite Jason Statham. Hailing from a first-look partnership between Apple and Skydance Media, pic will be produced by Skydance’s David Ellison, Dana Goldberg, and Don Granger. Vinson Films (Tripp Vinson) and Vanderbilt’s Project X Entertainment (Vanderbilt, William Sherak, Paul Neinstein), along with Ritchie & Ivan Atkinson and Jake Myers are also producing with Radio Silence (Matt Bettinelli-Olpin, Tyler Gillett and Chad Villella) serving as executive producers.

Best known for his role as vigilante Mother’s Milk on Prime Video’s smash hit series The Boys, Alonso portrayed the villain Fenix opposite Vin Diesel in multiple installments of the Fast & Furious franchise, also appearing in James Cameron’s Avatar. Other notable film credits include DetroitMiracle at St. AnnaStomp the YardJarhead and Constantine.

In television, Alonso has also been seen on A&E’s cult hit Breakout Kings and Starz’s Power Book II: Ghost, among other series. In addition to Independent Artist Group, he is repped by Authentic Talent and Literary Management and Goodman, Genow, Schenkman.
