Igor Tudor has finally found a sidelines. After choosing to leave Olympique de Marseille last summer, the Croatian coach took his time to accept a position. However, there was no shortage of requests. Courted by Torino, Bologna, Napoli and even Olympique Lyonnais, Tudor did not jump at the first opportunity that presented itself. Ultimately, it is therefore at Lazio that he will try to relaunch himself, taking advantage of the resignation of Maurizio Sarri.
Linked to the celestial club until 2025, the Croatian arrived in the Italian capital with his agent, goalkeeper coach Tomislav Rogic, his assistant Ivan Javorcic and video analyst Giuseppe Maiuri. In terms of physical preparation, Tudor will have to do without his faithful companion Gianni Brignardello, who left for De Rossi's AS Roma. Barely arrived, Tudor chose to live at the Formello training center with his staff. A usual practice for him since he had done the same in Marseille by sleeping for several months at the RLD training center.
Double sessions already scheduled
Among the Lazio players, we already know what to expect with the new strong man of Celeste. As indicated The Corriere dello Sport, Mattéo Guendouzi's partners expect to run more and do more intense training than with Sarri. Moreover, the Gazzetta dello Sport announces that Tudor has scheduled two sessions tomorrow and Thursday. Players who have not left for the national team will therefore not be idle. And for good reason. Having come to redress the situation, Tudor knows that he will start his Roman adventure with a heavy start with two receptions from Juventus (in Serie A and the Italian Cup) and the derby against Roma.
The Croatian therefore does not want to waste time, especially as he also risks imposing a tactical change. Under Sarri, Lazio played in 4-3-3, a system that Tudor does not prioritize. He would prefer a 3-4-2-1, but he will gradually evolve his playing pattern. Gazzetta dello Sport even states that he should initially opt for a 4-2-3-1. Finally, the daily adds that two players could benefit from the arrival of Tudor: defender Nicolo Casale (whom Tudor played in Verona) and Mattéo Guendouzi.
