Thunderbolt in Rome. The day after Lazio’s defeat against Udinese (1-2), Maurizio Sarri submitted his resignation to the Roman club. It is now up to President Lotito to accept it or not.

According to Gazzetta, the Italian coach went to the Formello training center this Tuesday morning and said goodbye to the club staff, before going to the locker room to empty his locker.

Sarri arrived at Lazio in 2021. Last season, he led the Biancocelesti to second place in the championship, behind Naples. This season, Lazio reached the round of 16 of the Champions League, with the key being an elimination against Bayern, and is only in ninth place in Serie A, after a series of three defeats in a row.
